Market Manager South Africa- Beauty Care Retail

  • Creating a shipment and IMS plan in cooperation with Sales and Marketing and ensuring the execution.

  • Managing the sales and Key Account budget in terms of planning promotional activities and obtaining approvals for sales spends and promotions. Closing with the trade and the distributors the annual agreement incl. all budgets.

  • Executing the promotion plan and analyzing the promotion activities by month and by brands. Ensuring POS availability per brand in each channel according to traffic light.

  • Drive achievement of monthly sales targets in close coordination with Sales. Conduct market-wise analysis of Sales, profits, growth etc.

  • Initiate projects for cost savings in pricing and value chain. Provide insights into running efficient sales operations (distributor) in coordination with Sales.

  • Communicate and coordinate with Distributors promotion activities and co-packing of the products. And assures in-market execution. Furthermore, a control on sales data and stocks and orders is needed.

  • Coordinate with Supply chain the execution of deliveries to distributor and the updates on status of pending deliveries.

  • Creating and presenting reports on monthly business achievement, Stock-and Sales, competitor activities.

  • Conducting regular field market visits across countries to gauge effectiveness of own promotions and to evaluate competitor activities.

  • Steering and controlling the Key Account business.

  • Managing Henkel Trade Channel Managers and developing them to handle higher responsibilities. 


  • Total 8 years of experience in sales, Key Account and with distributor is required.
  • Experience with FMCG preferred, also experience with handling own sales operations is useful.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills required.

  • Ability to handle complex business issues and able to analyze complex data.

  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office).

  • Expert in Excel usage.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, teamwork, & organization skills are essential.

  • Regional travel might be required.

  • Required Language is English.
