The Category Development Manager is responsible for leveraging Consumer, Category and Shopper Insights to identify business growth opportunities that will drive profitable growth for Walmart and Henkel.  This role will play an integral part in developing strategic planning and execution initiatives that elevate the company’s influence with the customer. 

  • Provide category and shopper-centric analysis using multiple data points, including syndicated data and retailer specific systems

  • Proactively identify category trends and opportunities to drive category and brand growth

  • Build customer relationships and drive category partnership opportunities

  • Partner with our internal cross functional teams to develop category stories, category strategy and executions

  • Provide insights to inform and support development of channel/customer specific executions
  • Lead category reviews and development of assortment & POG analysis and executions
  • Analyze and evaluate new item performance and promotional effectiveness across category
  • Expand shared learning and category insights across the team and broader organization.


  • BS and 5+ years of CPG experience, with 2+ years in Category Management/Shopper Insights role.
  • Ability to influence decision makers across all levels of internal and external organizations and to identify customer category insights and translate them into actions.
  • Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of syndicated data (POS and Panel) and consumer/shopper insights; Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency using Space Management applications (ProSpace) is highly preferred.
