Senior Category Manager

YOUR ROLE

  • Provides category management to Canadian Sales Organization including (promotion analysis, shelving/assortment, pricing and category/consumer insights) and decision support for Account teams and Strategy Team. 

  • Drives and develops the strategic management of the brands in Laundry & Home Care segment.  

  • Office-based position, which localizes HQ/brand direction on initiatives and customizes for Account and Team. 

  • Develops presentations with clear category recommendations and presents them at the client the for Account Line Reviews. 

  • Customizes sales presentations for account/channel specific use tying in category insights and strategy with sales and account opportunities on continuous basis. 

  • Leverages internal and external data sources including point-of-sales data to create analyses and presentations in support of Division/Team objectives

YOUR SKILLS

  • B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Category Management (or related roles) within consumer products industry with manufacturer or syndicated data supplier. Previous customer facing experience is an asset.

  • Direct sales or brand management experience in consumer packaged goods industry is a plus

  • Proficient in use of customer POS data including Retail Link, IRI, Precima, etc.

  • Excellent computer skills with Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Strong proficiency and expert knowledge in Nielsen and other consumer/market tools and methodologies (Kantar, IPSOS, Numerator, etc)

  • Able to navigate Space Management applications (Apollo, Spaceman or ProSpace)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills for presenting data, findings and customer interaction

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, able to interpret and utilize syndicated data, etc.
