The Director, Marketing, Home Care is responsible for leading all aspects of brand portfolio, leading a team of marketers and closely partnering with cross functional US team and Global HQ team.  This role is accountable for developing long term strategic direction for Home Care innovation, and leading implementation that delivers financial and in-market objectives.  

 Key responsibilities

  • Create high performing team across local and global business units that enables agile, effective team output
  • Develop and execute annual and long-term strategic plans consistent with corporate priorities
  • Analyze complex market data and provide recommended direction for assigned brands
  • Create and justify annual brand plan to include short- and long-term objectives, strategic initiatives and tactical actions, product line architecture, SKU mix, annual revenue, spending budgets, pricing and consumer promotions. Makes periodic adjustments to the plan as market demands
  • Forecast for sales volume, profits, consumer measures and brand health results and provides requested updates
  • Manages brand on day-to-day basis, oversees execution of activities set in the annual brand plan, establish spending budgets and manages them through the course of the year
  • Lead cross functional brand activities, works closely with Sales, Innovation, R&D, Operations, Finance and other functions as needed
  • Develop communication strategies and briefs to creative business partners i.e. advertising agencies, graphic design firms
  • Lead and influence innovation to develop and execute short and long-term core improvement and new products; lead new product development and product improvement. Develop business cases for new product introductions. Develop new product launch plans and leads execution in a desired time frame
  • Develop direction for retail execution of brand plans; play a leadership role in customer presentations, both on the road and in our corporate facilities. Quickly gain credibility, and demonstrate value and presence with senior leadership at our customers
  • Demonstrate leadership in planning, structuring and organizing work; and setting team priorities. Provide strategic guidance and counsel on top priority projects
  • Effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization, up to and including CEO and Board communication


  • A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or equivalent degree is preferred.
  • 10-15+ years of progressive and successful experience leading brands and teams with CPG; experience setting a vision and executing in a similar brand leadership role within a consumer-packaged goods organization.
  • Experience marketing in a digital world, (i.e., social media, e-commerce, analytics, on-line) is required
  • Experience working in a global organization and collaborating with regional groups is highly preferred; experience leading in a matrix environment with cross functional teams is required; Experience in successful partnership with R&D organizations to develop innovative products supported by specific and relevant brand messaging is required
  • Prior P&L experience and strong financial acumen in making effective business decisions
  • Experience in providing marketing thought leadership—taking consumer insight and using it to drive thinking and good decisions, is required
