Product Development Research Chemist (Automotive Adhesives/Sealants)

YOUR ROLE

  • Designing and developing specialized Sealants & Coatings for the Body in White market (example: Sealing Body/Paint, UBC, LASD and Structural Adhesives) with a focus on conducting research that may result in patentable technology to meet market and North American customer needs.

  • Providing technical product support to Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and other Product Development staff as needed.

  • Working with internal and external customers to define needs and potential applications of technology. Creating and maintaining product development strategies to support the business direction.

  • Advising senior management on current and future business opportunities.

  • Attending customer meetings and commercial trials.

  • Managing multiple projects while meeting the timing for development, scale-up and commercialization of assigned projects.  

  • Serving as the Technical Expert in North America/globally to support the current portfolio.

YOUR SKILLS

  • BS or MS Degree in Chemistry and or Chemical Engineering required.

  • Five to ten years of product development experience in sealant/adhesive formulating with a focus on automotive assembly or similar industries.

  • Proven ability to bring products to market on schedule.

  • Self-motivated individual with ability for team leadership.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally.
