Reporting to the Director, Category Development & Shopper Insights, the Sr. Manager Shopper Insights, Hair Care for Henkel’s Hair Care businesses will represent the voice of the shopper across Henkel cross-functional teams and our Retail partners. This role will provide a foundational understanding of shopper behaviors and trends to our Customer Sales Teams, Category Development, Sales Strategy, Marketing, Shopper Marketing, and Retailer partners.

  • Represent the voice and needs of the shopper across the organization

  • Identify/understand shopper behaviors and trends at the category and retailer level

  • Leverage shopper insights to improve the shopping experience to guide insight driven in-store 4P executions

  • Identify critical knowledge gaps and develop learning plans to address current and future business needs

  • Manage multiple complex analyses and custom research projects from start to finish: develop comprehensive learning plans, determine appropriate data sources, determine scope and methodology, execute research studies with suppliers, synthesize key learnings, translate learning into actionable recommendations, and create/deliver compelling presentations that force change

  • Link the understanding of category shopper behavior and the implications to brand and retailer strategies

  • Support new product launches with Shopper and Category centric insights and selling support

  • Develop Category and Shopper growth platforms that elevate our strategic relationships with retailers


  • Bachelors’ degree with 5+ years of experience in Shopper Insights, Market Research, or Category Management

  • Experience managing custom research studies from start to finish (example methodologies include:  journey/experience mapping, path to purchase, consumer decision trees, segmentation, shop-along)

  • Experience in analyzing and drawing insight from Consumer Panel, Numerator and Customer Loyalty data; experience with a full range of syndicated and secondary sources (IRI, Panel, Spectra, Kantar, Mintel, etc.)

  • Ability to connect multiple sources of data (qualitative and quantitative) to tell a holistic and actionable story
