Attracting top talents in South Africa
Committed to attracting top talents, Henkel South Africa participated in the Trained in Germany job fair held at the Deutsche Internationale Schule in Johannesburg. This interactive event introduced students and young professionals who have studied, conducted research, worked or trained in Germany, to companies like Henkel, which has its head office in that country.
This initiative of the Alumni portal Deutschland (an online community platform) and the Southern Africa-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry gave Henkel a valuable platform to interact with potential employees. In addition to sharing available career opportunities, the company gave attendees more insight into its operations.
At the event, Sibongile Manzana, Henkel Head of Human Resources Sub Saharan Africa, delivered an inspiring presentation about Henkel’s strategy, values, operations, products and career-building opportunities, such as internships, in-service training and its Graduate Development Programme.
“Attracting and retaining talented employees is a key challenge for businesses globally. That’s why participating in events like the Trained in Germany job fair – where companies can raise awareness about their activities and interact with prospective employees – is so important,” notes Manzana. “For Henkel South Africa, attracting and developing the right talents are predictors for our business success.”
