Improvement of production processes

Henkel Guatemala awarded important certifications

As part of its global strategy, Henkel took several actions to improve its production processes at its plant in Guatemala, which resulted in the attainment of four major certifications.

The employees received a diploma to commemorate the achievement.

The employees received a diploma to commemorate the achievement.

Of the four standards satisfied, three are issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO): the ISO 50001 (Energy Efficiency), ISO 14001 (Environment) and ISO 9001 (Quality Management). The last one falls under the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment series (OHSAS), namely OHSAS 18001.

These certifications are the result of a commitment supported by all employees at the site. Rodrigo Gonzalez, Henkel Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Manager explains: "The process of satisfying the four standards took a year. Given that, on average, each certification procedure lasts six to nine months, the effort and dedication shown by our entire workforce has been exemplary."

As a way of thanking the employee a breakfast was held at the plant in Guatemala.

In celebration of this tremendous achievement, a breakfast was held for all the site’s employees as a way of thanking them for a job well done. Furthermore, a diploma was given to everyone to commemorate the occasion. The event was attended by several senior managers of the Henkel plant as well as Christel Thalman, Henkel’s Global Safety, Environment & Quality Manager for the Laundry & Home Care business.

Addressing the gathering, Thalman said: “I’m very proud of what has been done at this site. Obtaining the four certifications in one and the same year is a fantastic achievement. And you can see that everyone is committed not only to their own safety but also that of everyone else at the location – as evidenced by their incidence statistics.
