In Indonesia, there are a lot of children who work, eat and sleep in the streets. Many of them do not have a choice since they were born into difficult circumstances and are helpless in improving their standards of living. Organizations, such as Sahabat Anak (translated as ‘Best friend to children’), reach out to these street children by providing them with education and welfare.
This summer, Henkel Indonesia supported the Sahabat Anak Jamboree carnival for 1,000 street children. Its Beauty Care team sponsored SYOSS shampoo sachets for the event and was present together with other volunteers to befriend and entertain the children through educational and fun activities.
Rieska Lidiani, Event Manager,Beauty Care, at Henkel Indonesia, said, “We believe that volunteers of the Sahabat Anak Jamboree – whether as individuals, groups, communities, organizations, or the media – make a big impact on the lives of these Indonesian children. We, at Henkel, support this worthy cause, which aims to encourage the children to dream and strive for a better future.”
Sahabat Anak is a non-profit organization that provides quality education and children’s rights advocacy in an effort to encourage and inspire Jakarta’s street children to escape urban poverty.
