Recognition for leadership in sustainability

Henkel Argentina received the Corporate Citizenship Award

For the last 16 years, the American Chamber Argentina has been organizing the Corporate Citizenship Award to recognize companies that are being managed sustainably and that have implemented sustainable processes, products and services. This year, Henkel Argentina was recognized as one of the ten leading companies in the country, in the category "Sustainability-oriented Business Management" (GES).

This category assesses the following company aspects:

  • Corporate governance (ethics and transparency, leadership and stakeholder participation);
  • The economic dimension (return on invested capital and value creation);
  • The environmental dimension (environmental operations management, products and services);
  • The social dimension (human resources management, community development, responsibility for products and services, relationships with suppliers and distributors);
  • Systemic feature of the reported initiatives;
  • Quality of provided information.

"Establishing a responsible corporate culture is a long-term challenge for all stakeholders that are committed to building an economy that seeks the creation of economic and social value, while taking care of the environment", says Guillermo von Bergen, President of Henkel Argentina.

"In addition to the commitment to global leadership, this achievement was largely possible thanks to the contributions of all team members towards reaching the goals of Henkel’s Sustainability Strategy 2030. The inclusion in the Top #130 local employers’ ranking, the generation of strategic corporate partnerships, the increasing participation of our people in the MIT Initiative and the community relationship program focusing on sustainable development, were all relevant factors in receiving this award", he adds.

About the Corporate Citizenship Award (CCA)

Since 1999, the CCA has received more than 1,200 submissions and has recognized more than 90 companies in Argentina. Thus, the CCA has accompanied the evolution of Corporate Social Responsibility in the country through promoting and encouraging businesses to trigger change and actions towards sustainable management.

The award contributes to identifying companies with good practices and facilitating monitoring and evaluation of companies. The group of awarded organizations that actively encourage sustainability can share their work and promote their commitment and their stakeholders’ commitment in different company sectors, thus contributing to Argentina’s sustainability agenda.
