New Ceresit production facility in Georgia
Henkel Adhesive Technologies has opened its first production facility in Georgia, near the capital of Tbilisi. Within the next three years, the plant will produce more than 40 cement based products for tiling, waterproofing, flooring and external thermal insulation under the Ceresit brand.
The new facility will enable the company to meet the growing customer demand for construction mixes in Georgia and the Caucasus region. “By opening our first plant in Georgia, Henkel reaffirms its commitment to grow its business and localize production capacities in emerging markets,” said Zdenek Brich, Director for Building Materials with in AC. “Georgia is an attractive market for our broad portfolio of building materials, and this new plant puts us even closer to our customers to better meet their needs.”
The plant construction has received high support from the Georgian authorities. Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, who attended the opening ceremony on September 14, said, “We pay particular attention to the development of the economic relations between Germany and Georgia, and this company is a clear example of an attractive investment environment in Georgia. We are very pleased that the world-renowned brand Henkel has selected Georgia for the purposes of regional production.”
Henkel has a well-developed distribution network in the region, and its products have been used for a number of construction projects in the region, including the medical center in Tbilisi, a new hotel in Batumi and an Olympic stadium in Baku.
