Oct 21, 2016 Berlin / Germany
On October 20, 2016, the American Chamber of Commerce Germany (AmCham Germany) presented its “Transatlantic Partnership Award” in Berlin for the 29th time. Henkel was among this year’s five winners. Alongside BASF, BMW, Trumpf and ZF Friedrichshafen, the company was recognized for its success on the US market and its positive contribution to transatlantic relations. Henkel CEO Hans Van Bylen and Jerry Perkins, President of Henkel North America, accepted the award on Thursday evening.
North America is one of the most important regions for Henkel, and the USA is the country where its sales are the highest. The portfolio in the USA includes a number of well-known consumer and industrial brands such as laundry detergents Persil and Purex, Schwarzkopf products for retailers and professionals, Dial body care products and Loctite adhesives. Over the last few decades, Henkel has continuously strengthened its business in North America through acquisitions. Just this year, it purchased The Sun Products Corporation – making Henkel the second-largest player on the North American detergent market.
The Transatlantic Partnership Award is a symbol of the German-American partnership. Each year, it honors individuals, institutions and companies that have made a significant contribution to nurturing transatlantic relations. The winners are chosen by an international jury chaired by Bernhard Mattes, President AmCham Germany and Chairman Ford-Werke GmbH.
The AmCham Germany exists since 1903, and with its roughly 3,000 members, it is the largest American Chamber of Commerce in Europe. AmCham Germany is committed to improving global trade relations as well as promoting free trade and new investment between the USA and Germany.
