Adding to its broad portfolio of thermal interface material ‏(TIM) innovations, Henkel today announced the commercial availability of Bergquist Hi Flow THF 5000UT. The phase change film TIM marks a significant milestone in thermal management materials development, allowing for low mechanical pressure to achieve thorough wet out and an ultra-thin bond line at the interface. This is critical for challenging package designs with complex architectures, such as lidless multi-chip devices used in high-performance compute and industrial applications.

As brands seek more sustainable packaging options, new coating technologies for fibre-based packaging are unlocking the full potential of paper. At Interpack 2023, Henkel and UPM Specialty Papers presented two recyclable paper solutions created through a joint development between the two companies that push the performance of barrier papers to an unsurpassed level of grease resistance – offering a heat-sealable alternative to conventional plastic packaging. By combining Henkel coatings with UPM packaging papers, the innovative combined solutions provide fully recyclable alternatives for both food and non-food packaging applications.

Loctite Ablestik NCA 01UV is the latest innovation that is bringing unprecedented speed, efficiency, and sustainability to the assembly of high-resolution advanced driver assistance systems ‏(ADAS) camera and lidar modules. Henkel’s new active alignment adhesive can be cured in a single step with just three seconds of UV LED light exposure, circumventing the need for oven curing to save time, energy, and CO₂ emissions.

Henkel publishes its Q1 2023 statement on May 4, 2023.

Henkel today announced the addition of Loctite Ablestik ABP 8068TI to its growing portfolio of high thermal die attach adhesives. With 165 W/m-K thermal conductivity, the new pressure-less sintering die attach paste boasts the highest thermal capability in the company’s semiconductor packaging portfolio, meeting performance requirements for high-reliability automotive and industrial power discrete semiconductor devices.

At LIGNA 2023, held from May 15 to 19, Henkel’s specialist Engineered Wood division will present its advanced portfolio of solutions for the mass timber industry. The spotlight will be on sustainable innovations and adhesives for fire performance. Visitors to the Henkel Engineered Wood booth C38 at Hall 27, can discover solutions that help to optimize fire safety while further reducing the environmental footprint of timber construction. Today, construction materials account for a staggering 11% of global CO₂ emissions. This fact is accelerating interest in engineered wood as a viable solution to utilise renewable materials in construction that deliver significantly lower lifetime emissions than conventional concrete/steel methods.
