As a sign of solidarity and to support the people affected by the flood disaster in Western Germany, Henkel is expanding its emergency aid package to 1 million euros. The company had previously announced a direct emergency aid program of 600,000 euros immediately after the flood disaster. Now, Henkel expands its measures to support people in affected regions with further donations in kind and financial aid totaling 400,000 euros.

Nexa3D, the maker of ultrafast polymer 3D printers, announced today in partnership with Henkel, the commercial availability of xFLEX 475, a category leading soft rubber material that is ideal for the production of additively manufactured industrial and consumer products. Within the high growth elastomers market, customers can now access this industrial strength material for applications that require resilience, snap back and tear resistance, such as pipes and manifolds, handles, and grips, seals, and gaskets or sportswear and footwear midsoles.

Together with analyticon instruments, Henkel Adhesive Technologies has developed a new measuring system for the mobile handheld XRF spectrometer, or X-ray gun for short. The measuring system was tested at Claas Bad Saulgau and was used on the agricultural machinery parts manufacturer’s production line to investigate the potential of replacing the powder activation Bonderite M-AC 50-1 with the liquid activation Bonderite M-AC AL 2000. Rather than requiring laboratory analysis, the new system was able to measure the coating weight ‏(CW) of the Zn phosphate ‏(ZnPO4) layer through the e-coat on the steel substrate in approximately 10 seconds.

Henkel Corporation and Aqua Membranes are introducing a revolutionary Printed Spacer Technology^® for spiral-wound element design and manufacturing. The new technology eliminates the need for conventional plastic mesh feed spacers by printing unique spacer patterns directly onto delicate flat sheet membrane materials. These patterns have the potential to reduce fouling and scaling in the element and offer a more open water flow channel, which reduces energy consumption during the water filtration process.

Henkel is expanding its capacity and portfolio for UV acrylic hotmelt pressure sensitive adhesives ‏(PSA). The move is in line with the company’s strategic focus on sustainability and addresses previous capacity bottlenecks faced coupled with increased demand for UV-curable PSAs. To drive forward the expansion, Bruno Motta has been appointed to the new role of Global Project Manager UV Hotmelts and manufacturing capacity in Europe and North America will be ramped up significantly this year.
