About this Position:
Results-driven professional with experience in developing and scaling adhesive and coating formulations for packaging applications. Skilled in localization, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration, with a strong focus on performance optimization, cost efficiency, and SHEQ compliance.What you´ll do:
- Product Development: Formulate and develop water-based adhesives and coatings (water- and solvent-based) tailored for packaging applications, aligned with regional requirements and customer needs.
- Localization & Customization: Localize global formulations to adapt to regional raw materials and market requirements, ensuring cost-effectiveness and performance.
- Scale-Up & Commercialization: Manage the transition from lab to pilot to full production scale, including batch processing, mixing studies, and documentation.
- Customer Engagement: Conduct customer trials, provide technical support, and gather feedback for continuous improvement of the formulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with global teams, sales, marketing, supply chain, and application engineers to ensure on-time project execution and value creation.
- Safety, Quality & 5S Compliance: Ensure compliance with Henkel SHEQ standards and 5S principles. Actively promote and maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment.
- CAPEX Projects: Support the planning, execution, and commissioning of lab equipment and pilot plant upgrades, including CAPEX project support.
- Technical knowhow & Troubleshooting: Provide on-site customer support, resolve application issues for new development, and drive root cause analysis for performance deviations.
What makes you a good fit:
- 5-8 years of experience in adhesive & Coating formulation development, performance validation, and structure-property analysis.
- M. Tech / master’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or Materials Science.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to create technical reports and presentations.
- Experience with design experiments and performance testing of adhesives or coatings.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and scientific rigor.
- Self-motivated, with a high level of initiative and ownership.
- Proven team player with excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset. • Agile and flexible to work in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment.
