Privacy Policy

We at Henkel understand your need to maintain your privacy when searching for a job or an internship, taking part in one of our employer branding initiatives or signing up for our talent community. Henkel is committed to protecting your privacy. We will use the information you submit to us only for the purposes as explained in this document. 

1. Reason and scope of data collection

1.1. Recruitment

Henkel collects and processes personally identifiable information from users when you apply for a job, an internship or if you want your data to be kept in our talent pool for future recruitment purposes. In this scope, upon your registration Henkel will collect the following information from you:

  • Applicant Master Data (e.g. your first name, last name, etc.)
  • Contact Data
  • Applicant Data (e.g. your education information)
  • CV

Fields which are indicated with an asterisk ‏(*) mean that information is required. Without the information asked for in these fields, we cannot register you for our talent pool. You are free to fill out the other fields if you wish.

Your personal information is not used for any other purpose than evaluating your profile, matching it with employment opportunities and initiating and administering the application process. If you enter your data, we may use that information to contact you about any employment opportunity now and in the future via the channels provided. The information will not be used to inform you of any commercial activity of the company.

1.2. Employer Branding

The above-mentioned personally identifiable information is also processed by Henkel also when you want to take part in one of our employer branding initiatives or if you want to receive Employer Branding information from Henkel.

In this case, your personal information is additionally used to inform you via E-mail about the Henkel group as an employer and employment opportunities or about recruiting and employer branding initiatives, as for example recruitment newsletters, events, new job openings, etc. The information will not be used to inform you of any commercial activity of the company.
We will process your personal information for employer branding purposes only upon your explicit consent. You can revoke your consent at any time:

a. yourself by logging into our system with your personal username and password
b. by contacting Henkel and requesting to revoke the consent. In such a case you will receive an e-mail with a link to access your profile and revoke the consent.


2. Data storage

Your data is stored and processed by Henkel in a database which is operated by a hosting provider according to Henkel's instructions. Access to this database is granted only to parties who are involved in the talent relationship management and recruitment process.

3. Data access and correction

You may access and change the data of your profile at any time in case it needs an update or a correction. In such a case Henkel will keep the log information on all the changes, though, in order to be able to determine the implications of the change on the decision in the process.

You can access and change your data:

a. yourself by logging into our system with your personal username and password
b. by contacting Henkel and requesting the change of your data. In such a case you will receive an e-mail with a link to access your profile and change the information as requested.

We may ask you to update your profile on a regular basis. In such a case you will receive an e-mail in which we ask you:

a. to log into your profile with your username and password and update your data.
b. to follow the link in the e-mail leading you to your profile and update your data there.

4. Deletion of data

You can delete your profile at any time if you are no longer interested in staying in our talent pool. You can do so:

a. yourself by logging into our system with your personal username and password and clicking on the button “delete”
b. by contacting Henkel and requesting the deletion of your data. In such a case a Henkel employee will delete your profile and send you an e-mail confirming the deletion of your data.

If your profile is deleted, you will no longer be considered for an open position or our talent pool. Your data will be deleted completely and irrevocably in accordance with the applicable laws.

Otherwise, all data stored within our process will be retained for 24 months (36 months for the USA) after the initial registration date. If you do not update your profile within 23 months (35 months for the USA), Henkel may send you a final e-mail asking you to update your profile. If you do not update your profile by the given deadline, your profile and all the data it contains will be irrevocably deleted.

5. Data transfer

In case you are interested in a specific position at Henkel we will use your data to create a profile for you in our recruitment tool. We will inform you accordingly about this transfer and provide separate log-in data for you to access your profile.

Henkel, being a global company, will share your personal information with other Henkel offices or subsidiaries around the world in such countries for which you have registered your application, including countries outside the EU with less stringent privacy laws than in the EU. All such entities are governed by this Privacy Policy and/or are bound by the appropriate confidentiality and data transfer agreements.

As you will be aware, the Internet is not secure and if you have any concerns you should not use this service.

6. Cookies

The application platform will place session cookies on your computer. Session Cookies are small text files that our website saves on your computer or mobile device if you use our website. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences during your session, so you don't have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another. The session cookie contains a randomly selected Session-ID. Once the session is closed or expired, so are the cookies.

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish - for details, see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.

Please also contact us this way, if you would like to know whether we have collected data about you and, if so, which data. We shall endeavor to comply with your wish immediately. If you should not be satisfied with how we have treated your requests or how we handle your personal data, you may complain to the competent authority for Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, the Data Protection Authority in North Rine-Westphalia (www.ldi.nrw.de) or your local DPA.
