The Process Engineer for adhesive manufacturing Operation is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting hotmelt adhesive manufacturing processes. This role ensures stable process performance, improved productivity, enhanced product quality, and continuous technical development across the hotmelt production line.
What you´ll do
Process Development & Optimization
- Optimize hotmelt adhesive processes, including mixing, melting, coating, and application steps.
- Analyze process data to improve yield, reduce scrap, and ensure consistent product quality.
- Lead process validation, scale-up, and capability studies.
- Define and maintain process parameters and control limits (temperature, viscosity, flow rate, etc.).
Equipment & Technical Support
- Provide technical support for hotmelt equipment such as melters, extruders, mixers, coaters, and applicators.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams on equipment upgrades and automation projects.
- Support preventive maintenance planning with technical insights.
Quality & Compliance
- Work with QA/QC teams to address defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure processes comply with internal standards, ISO requirements, and customer specifications.
- Develop and update SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure safe operation of high‑temperature adhesive processes and equipment.
- Conduct process hazard assessments and support safety improvement initiatives.
- Train operators and technicians on safe handling and process control.
Continuous Improvement & Projects
- Lead and participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM improvement projects.
- Support automation, digitalization, and data‑driven manufacturing initiatives.
- Introduce new materials, technologies, and methods to enhance productivity and quality.
What makes you a good fit
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- +5 years of experience in adhesives, hotmelt, coating, polymer processing, or related manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of thermal processes, viscosity control, fluid dynamics, and material behavior.
- Experience with automated systems, PLC, and data‑driven process control is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
