About the role
We are looking for our new Site Director for our manufacturing plant located in Villefranche-sur-Saône, France.
The site employs approximately 110 people and specializes in the production of Adhesive Technologies products (Hot Melts and Polyurethane Adhesives) serving customers in France and internationally.
This position reports directly to the Network Production Director Europe and plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence, sustainable business growth, and a strong safety culture
What you will do
Purpose of the role:
- Deliver high-quality products and outstanding customer service at a competitive cost while ensuring full compliance with company policies, legal requirements, safety standards, environmental regulations, certification requirements, traceability standards, and inventory targets.
- Lead the site's operational performance and continuous improvement agenda to achieve business objectives.
- Represent the site internally and externally, acting as the primary ambassador of the facility and its people.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality products while meeting customer service expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs to optimize productivity, quality, service levels, and costs.
- Set, manage, and monitor the site's budget to achieve annual growth, profitability, and performance targets.
- Ensure compliance with all SHEQ standards (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) and applicable legal requirements.
Leadership & People Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the site leadership team, fostering a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Build and execute long-term workforce and succession plans aligned with business needs.
- Strengthen organizational capabilities by developing a skilled, engaged, flexible, and empowered workforce.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, inclusion, and employee engagement across the site.
Stakeholder Management & Representation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all site-related matters.
- Act as the legal representative of the plant and ensure full compliance with regulatory and labor requirements.
- Represent the site and the legal entity externally with local authorities, regulatory bodies, customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
- Serve as President of the Henkel Operations legal entity in France.
Business Partnership
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, R&D, Engineering, Procurement, and other business functions to support growth and innovation initiatives.
- Contribute to wider network and regional manufacturing strategies while ensuring alignment with Henkel's business objectives....
What makes you a good fit
Education
- Master's degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or a strategic leadership position, including significant people management responsibilities.
- Proven experience leading manufacturing sites or large-scale operational teams within a complex industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of modern manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, TPM, Six Sigma, or equivalent).
- Solid knowledge of supply chain management, including production, planning, logistics, and inventory management.
- Good understanding of financial management, labor law, environmental regulations, and industrial safety requirements.
Leadership Competencies
- Strong leadership and people development skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and influence teams at all levels.
- Strategic mindset combined with strong execution capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive change and lead transformation initiatives.
Languages
- Fluent in French and English.
