About this Position

This role involves overseeing logistics operations across domestic and international transportation, warehousing, and inventory deployment to ensure excellent customer service at optimal cost while leading the customer service team and improving efficiency through best practices and Lean methodologies. Responsibilities also include managing financial performance, ensuring compliance, organizing market tenders, developing Henkel’s logistics network in the ANZ region, and coaching a high-performing team to drive continuous improvement.

What you´ll do

  • Plan, manage and evaluate the logistics operations across domestic and international transportation, warehousing and inventory deployment to deliver excellent service to customers at optimal cost 
  • Lead the customer service team to ensure prompt and professional responses to customer inquiries, complaints, and order-related issues; Optimize the order fulfilment processes and enhance customer satisfaction while maintaining cost efficiency
  • Create and implement best practice, policies and processes to improve logistics and customer service efficiency
  • Manage financial performance of logistics operations costs vs budget. Investigate and analyse discrepancies and variations. Initiate corrective actions where required; Identify, develop and deliver productivity initiatives using Lean methodologies to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Organize & run market tenders in liaison with procurement to benchmark warehousing/freight operations and scope savings opportunities
  • Drive a strong safety culture in logistics operation ensuring compliance with Henkel guidelines; Ensure compliance with import/export/customs regulations and Henkel Global SOP
  • Set the strategic agenda for the future of Henkel Logistics Network in the ANZ region; Continuously monitor set KPI’s (OTIF, OTD, CN). Report and conduct investigation of KPI misses & implement corrective actions.
  • Lead, coach and develop a highly engaged team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, supporting them to meet agreed objectives, maximize their capability and potential. 

What makes you a good fit

  • Degree qualified
  • More than 10 years’ experience in Logistics and Customer Service Management; Deep knowledge and understanding of Logistics processes in FMCG industry
  • Experience in Logistics management of 3rd party warehouse providers and carriers; Experience in applying Lean methodology to Logistics to drive efficiency (highly regarded)
  • Have led warehousing and distribution network transformation projects; Experience with Logistics and Order to Cash Management in SAP & ideally experience with logistics systems WMS/TMS (Warehouse and Transport Management System)
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities; Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
  • Project management skills; Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills; Excellent attention to detail
  • Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost and customer order fulfilment; Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good communication and presentation skills; Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
