About this Position

  • Provide deep functional expertise/consultancy in Hygiene to support Henkel plants in the region.
  • Provide strategic and operational direction and leadership in Hygiene to ensure safety of products produced and sold in the region
  • Lead the Regional Laboratory team to establish Governance, Competency and Capability of all plants microbiology laboratories.
  • Work closely across the region with Quality team, Plant managers, Regional R&D, Regional Engineering and Corporate microbiology experts. 

What you´ll do

  • Deploys the Global Hygiene Program within the Region assuring the effective implementation of Standards, processes and microbiology technologies/methods in the Region.
  • Directs microbiology testing to assure accuracy of data, and timely confidential communication of results (including proficiency testing program) for the Region.
  • Leads and performs Plants Hygiene audits and Microbiology Laboratory audit.
  • Provides deep technical expertise in all aspects of laboratory and operational microbiology to:
    Support regional significant Hygiene incidents.
    Support the development and implementation of Hygiene Standards
    Support new product development activities
  • Provides technical guidance and consultancy (FMEA) to projects teams within the Region to assure that manufacturing processes and environments are microbiologically safe for producing both new and existing products.
  • Provides guidance in the design of microbiological surveillance and sanitation programs for manufacturing sites in the region.
  • Supports the root cause analysis and action plans creation of microbiological non-conformities at Henkel plants.
  • Provides scientifically-based recommendations to Regional Management Team regarding product dispositions and need for recall/retrieval of non-conforming products.
  • Is a member of the Global Hygiene Community of Practice and leads the Regional Hygiene Community of Practice.
  • Leads key projects that continuously improve Hygiene management and performance (processes, standards and tools) within the Region.
  • Delivers Hygiene training in the region.

What makes you a good fit

  • Deep functional expertise of all aspects of Hygiene / microbiology with either:
  • At least 5 years experience of working in microbiological laboratories.
  • At least 5 years experience of practical applied microbiology in factory environments.
  • University degree in Microbiology is preferable or related field.
  • Comfortable and adept at operating in a matrix management structure with many indirect relationships.
  • A capable leader of teams and individuals and able to motivate and engage superiors, peers, direct and indirect employees.
  • English.
  • Travel 50 to 80%.
