About this position


What you´ll do

  • The position will directly report to head of Governmental Relations & Public Affairs, Henkel China.
  • Develop and execute PAG plan and initiatives of HCB, aligned with and supportive to the HCB business strategy in China, for building and enhancing consumer brands and corporate reputation and perception among government stakeholders.
  • Develop governmental stakeholders mapping, establish long-term strategic relations with the key government agencies through identifying opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation programs and narratives. Leverage and coordinate various resources, internal and external, local and global, for the success of implementation.
  • Expand network and establish solid bonds with related government agencies, both at central and local levels, to prevent the company from crisis, particularly in Administration for Market regulation and compliance for manufacturing operation.
  • Leverage CAFFCI, EUCCC, AmCham, etc. cosmetics forums and any other associations which can help to influence the regulation making and policy implementation to ensure consistency of enforcement in a way that is supportive of the company’s business objectives.
  • Identify and organize engagement opportunities for senior executives to meet with government agencies, related institutions and organizations for reinforcing the relations and mutual trust.
  • Monitor, study and analyze the relevant policies and regulations in China and provide counsel to the senior management for their reference in the business decision making process; Anticipate, manage and mitigate GR issues for protecting and advancing the company’s business interests.
  • Support Quality team and product registration team to achieve strategic projects.
  • Align with global PAG leadership, work closely with Regulatory Affairs team and local PSRA team for joint efforts and consistent messages contributing to Chinese regulators on cosmetics regulations and policies.
  • Work with PR and Communications on government related activities and Consumer Rights Protection organizations to build company’s image in China and corporate brand awareness among key government stakeholders.
  • Manage and lead the GR firm to effectively implement GR strategy and execution plan and help achieve the above-mentioned objectives.

What makes you a good fit

  • Beyond 10 years of working experience in Government Relations, PR, or Marketing Strategies, whether though employment by a government agency or a government affairs firm, in house experience or some combination.
  • Highly self-motivated, keep learning new knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent team work with internal stakeholders and business driven mindset.
  • Strong ability to think strategically to resolve matters and to build collaborative relationships effectively and efficiently with all level officials of government agencies.
  • Excellent judgment and reputation; a high degree of ethics and discretion; and excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Chinese.
