When I first learned about Henkel, I was fascinated not only by the company's strength in the field but also by the great reputation it has as a company and an employer. What rhymes more with my values is the embedded diversity and equity in the company's culture, and the sustainability ambitions the company has. Moreover, working in the newly built inspiration center was a big attraction, as it would allow me to collaborate with highly talented people from various technologies.
How was your first experience? What was impressing/exciting/surprising?
Starting a new job in a new city can be challenging and sometimes scary. However, from day one, I was impressed by the support we received from everyone at Henkel. In general, people are friendly, motivated, and always willing to help and share their knowledge. This made me feel welcomed and highly motivated to work with and learn from everyone.
What do you like most about your job and your team? What is special?
Our IIP team is comprised of eleven completely different people and yet very similar. We come from different parts of the world, with completely different backgrounds, but we are all highly motivated and passionate about what we do. Despite working on different projects, we collaborate, help each other, and discuss on a daily basis which made us create a strong bond in a short time.
What would be an advice you would give to a young graduate starting in R&D in Henkel?
Be ready for new amazing experiences but also be prepared to challenge yourself and get out of your comfort zone. Use the opportunity and the freedom you will get to draw your own path and shape your future, but most importantly be yourself.
