Data Protection Statement for Teams Webinar for Attendees
When signing up for and joining Teams Webinars, we process your personal data.
The following personal data is or may be subject to processing:
- user details: first name, last name, email address
- Organization data (e.g. company’s name)
- Meeting metadata: e.g. date, start and end time, meeting ID, phone number, location
- content data (e.g. text in chats, reactions / emojis, polls or survey)
We process your data for the following purposes:
- in order to fulfill quasi-contractual obligations in connection with your sign-up. We require a registration in order to manage access and participants properly. The legal basis here is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR and – insofar as Henkel employees are concerned – Sec. 26 para. 1 sent. 1 of the German Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG).
- The actual display of and participation in the Teams Webinar for purposes of Training, Internal Communication, interviews, Marketing or awareness seminars, Customer engagement strategies. In this respect, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR and – insofar as Henkel employees are concerned – Sec. 26 para. 1 sent. 1 BDSG serve as legal basis; in case of no contractual obligation, these data processing activities can be based upon legitimate interest as per Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
We may record the Teams Webinars including aforementioned data – e.g. chat texts, reactions, emojis; however not your image or voice, unless you are a “presenter” (see below) – and publish these recordings on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
If you attend the Teams Webinar as a presenter, we will base recording activities and the publishing of the recordings on your respective consent as per Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. These processing activities and the respective purposes are laid down in the respective consent declaration as well as the Data Protection Statement for Teams Webinar Recording (see below).
We will not forward your data to any third party unless for the purpose of providing the functionality.

In case you are a presenter of a recorded Teams Webinar, you will find more information on how your personal data is processed by Henkel AG & Co. KGaA as data controller with regard to the recording and in addition to the aforementioned explanation here:
When recording a Teams Webinar, we process your personal data (in particular: your name and email address, and potentially content data) for the following purposes:
- Training
- Internal Communication
- Interviews
- Seminars
- Customer / marketing leads
For these purposes, the content of the communication will be recorded by Henkel.
In that context Henkel will publish the content of the communication on Henkel internal communication platforms, e.g. Intranet SharePoint or Microsoft Stream.
We will base the aforementioned processing activities on your respective consent as per Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You may withdraw your consent with effect for the future at any time by sending an E-Mail to datenschutz@henkel.com "Teams Webinar". In this case the recording will be deleted immediately.
The withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on the consent before its withdrawal.
We will not forward your data to any third party unless for the purpose of providing the functionality.
