Milano – Henkel announced the strategic decision to consolidate the Italian Laundry & Home Care production in Ferentino (Frosinone). The site will provide adequate capacity and structures to serve the domestic market with regards to highest quality, innovation, and sustainability.

The decision is required to safeguard Henkel’s stability and competitiveness long-term. Since the installed production capacity in Italy is significantly exceeding actual needs in the detergents market resulting into overcapacity, Ferentino was selected as only production site for Laundry & Home Care in Italy upon accurate evaluations concerning production volumes and characteristics, site location and capabilities.
Consequently, activities and volumes currently managed at Lomazzo (Como) site will be moved to Ferentino and, as far as export is concerned, to other Henkel sites in Western Europe, closer to the customers. The Lomazzo plant will stop operations by June 2021.
The company needs to adjust its structures to continue to adapt to demand and customer developments. Along its over 145 years history, this approach allowed Henkel to remain competitive despite high volatility in changing markets.
