As part of the Henkel Consumer Brands’ supply chain transformation, Henkel has announced to redesign its production model and is scaling down its operations in Ibadan, Oyo State. The company will be moving their source of production in partnership with a local contract manufacturer. The decision was made after an extensive evaluation of its operational model in response to evolving customer needs and has a direct impact on the factory employees.
Henkel ensures that all employees affected by this decision are treated with utmost respect, in line with the company’s culture and values. The company is attributing severance packages for both Henkel employees and 3rd party labour that exceed the local requirements and practice. In this way, Henkel aims to help all affected employees navigate this challenging time of change.
With this necessary shift, Henkel ensures its long-term competitiveness in the country while maintaining qualitative & innovative products to cater to local consumer demands and secure business continuity in an evolving business environment. The company remains fully committed to the Nigerian market and will continue to make products available to consumers nationwide.
