This year’s #WorldWaterDay theme focuses on #groundwater; while invisible, its impact is visible everywhere. 💧 Henkel supports reduced and circular water use as a key ambition in our new 2030+ #Sustainability Ambition Framework. By the end of 2021, we used 28% less water per ton of product and are aiming for 35% by 2025. A new water treatment facility at our site in Jundiaí, #Brazil, processes rainwater for #reuse in applications such as irrigation or for flushing toilets. In Vienna, #Austria, we began replacing well water used for cooling with a central, closed-loop cooling system, which saves us up to 5,000 cubic meter of fresh water per month. Henkel invests 840 million pesos over 10 years to build a new #distribution center for the Laundry & Home Care and consumer Henkel Beauty Care division in Toluca, #Mexico. 🚚 The new center will support enhanced operational #efficiency by concentrating the company's entire inventories in a single location. The facilities will offer automated equipment, electric forklifts and an integrated warehouse management software. Complex technological innovations will improve the overall #productivity of the warehouse operation, while reducing the time between placement of orders and delivery. The new facility is Henkel’s third-largest center of distribution worldwide. 🌐

For a climate-neutral future: Henkel and BASF join forces for #ClimateProtection by increasing the share of #biomass in our value chain. Through BASF’s biomass balance approach, fossil carbon feedstock will be replaced with renewable feedstock for most Henkel consumer goods products in Europe. As a result, our Henkel Laundry & Home Care and Henkel Beauty Care brands will come with a reduced #CarbonFootprint, avoiding around 200,000 tons of CO2 emissions in total. On @globalrecyclingday, Henkel reconfirms its responsibility to find innovative solutions that make recycling, repair, reuse and refurbishment of products possible. 👉 We design 100 percent of our packaging for recyclability or reusability by 2025 and increase the proportion of recycled plastic in our products to more than 30 percent. 👉 We collaborate with social enterprises like @PlasticBank which works to reduce plastic waste in nature in countries with little infrastructure.
