With our hair category, we are active in the consumer goods as well as the hair professional business. The hair consumer segment offers products for hair coloration, styling and care for both retail and direct-to-consumers. For professional hair salons we offer hair treatment, coloring, finishing and styling products. Schwarzkopf Professional is among the world’s three leading suppliers of professional hair care products.

In 2022, Henkel announced to merge its business units Laundry & Home Care and Beauty Care into one business unit: Henkel Consumer Brands. The new organizational setup has been in place since beginning of 2023.
Fiscal year 2021
Our Beauty Care business unit generated sales of 3,678 million euros, 18 percent of total company sales. By continuously strengthening our top brands, we were able to further boost the sales generated by our top 10 brands, with disproportionate growth in those segments of most importance to us. In 2021, we generated around 55 percent of our sales with products launched onto the market in the last three years.
Our Laundry & Home Care business accounted for 6,605 million euros sales which equal 33% of total Henkel sales. The Laundry & Home Care business unit sells laundry detergents and household cleaners around the globe. The Laundry Care business includes not only heavy-duty and specialty detergents but also fabric softeners, laundry performance enhancers, and other fabric care products. The product portfolio of our Home Care business encompasses hand and automatic dishwashing products, cleaners for bathroom and WC applications, and household, glass and specialty cleaners. We also offer air fresheners and insect control products for household applications. In 2021, we generated around 50 percent of our sales from products launched onto the market in the last three years.

Henkel Consumer Brands rewards suppliers for outstanding contributions
For the first time, Henkel’s newly established business unit Henkel Consumer Brands recognized its top suppliers for their industry-leading performance in 2022 with an award ceremony. The event took place at the American Cleaning Institute Convention in Orlando, Florida, on January 30 with more than 200 registered participants. The top partners were awarded in three categories: BASF was honored with the “Sustainability Award”. Novozymes, Innospec and Firmenich received each a “Best Innovation Contributor Award”. The winner of the “Supply Resilience Award” was Symrise.
Henkel signs agreement with Shell on renewable-based ingredients for Persil®, Purex® and all® brands
- Shell to replace approximately 200,000 tonnes of fossil feedstocks with renewable feedstocks for cleaning ingredients used in Henkel’s largest laundry brands in North America. A third-party certified mass balance approach will be used.
