About this position



What you´ll do

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and execute new adhesive technology/product development projects especially in automotive electronics application.
  • Proactively visit and communicate with customers and supplier partners to find new collaboration opportunities and troubleshoot problems.
  • Lead ADP projects, scouting activities, and innovation events independently with ownership.
  • Strengthen Henkel’s IP through patent development in area of competence.
  • Contribute to new technology, digitalization, automation, sustainability and diversity.
  • Ensure compliance with Henkel corporate SHE and 5S standards, policies and procedures and manage the daily lab SHE work.
  • Support operation on RM innovation, product scale-up, process optimization and quality improvement, etc.

What makes you a good fit

  • Master or PhD degree in polymer materials science and engineering, applied chemistry, materials science, polymer chemistry, chemical engineering.
  • Deep understanding of the chemical principles, polymerization mechanisms, curing mechanisms, and structure-property relationships of epoxy resins, acrylic resins, UV-curable resins, and thermosetting systems.
  • Proficient in bonding theory and familiar with the physical properties of optical materials.
  • Proficient in material characterization using DSC, TGA, DMA, TMA, rheometers, infrared spectroscopy, universal testing machines, spectrophotometers, interferometers, SEM, etc.
  • 5+ working experiences in product development and performances evaluation of adhesive for automotive optical modules (candidate with the experience in successfully leading projects from laboratory formulation to mass production at the customer site would be preferred).
  • Capable of managing R&D project milestones and communicating effectively with customers, sales, AE, production, etc. to translate customer requirements into technical language.
  • Deep understanding of cost control, product consistency and reliability, with sensitivity to downstream industry trends.
  • Good English communication skill in listening, speaking and writing.
  • Quick learner, open-minded and good communication skills.
