What you´ll do
- As a Technical Sales Engineer at Henkel’s Automotive Components Business Unit, you will be responsible for successfully driving technical sales projects, owning business results and expanding the strategic partnership with a leading pure-play EV OEM in North America.
- Your core responsibilities include: Demonstrate your technical expertise as subject matter expert in the adhesive and thermals space. Prepare and execute technical customer meetings and project reviews.
- Deliver material candidate’s properties and test results towards customer engineers, and translate the technical customer feedback into projects‘ next steps and follow up actions.
- Initiate and lead sales projects under demonstration of your technical expertise, project management and communication skills.
- Orchestrate input by supporting workstreams delivered by our strong cross-functional resources (i.e., Application Engineering, Product Development, Product Line Management, …).
- Define work packages (material tests, application trials, reports, …) for technical support teams.
- Successfully manage sales projects through all project phases starting from requirements collection, material candidate selection, material and application trials, and set the scene for serial supply upon successful business nomination.
- Demonstrate strong sense of urgency and deliver support to critical issues as they emerge.
- Listen to your customer’s needs and drive the translation of requirements into future product development and account strategies, in alignment with the Global Key Account Manager and BDMs.
- Hunt for new leads and additional business opportunities through proactive and self-driven promotion of Henkel Adhesive Technologies solutions portfolio.
- Become integral part of a dynamic key account team and take ownership for driving the strategic partnership between Henkel and the OEM to next levels.
What makes you a good fit
- Preference is for candidates living in the Pacific time zone or in Northern CA
- Educational background in engineering, materials science, or chemistry, combined with an outstanding and proven commercial sense.
- Bachelor’s degree is required,
- Master’s degree preferred. 5+ years of professional experience in technical fields, preferably within adhesive and/or thermal technologies.
- Experience with applications in automotive e-mobility and electronics components is a plus.
- Team player with strong cross-functional project management capabilities and excellent sense for stakeholder management.
- Extraordinary capability to lead and operate in situations of ambiguity and high ability to adapt when facing changes/challenges.
- Highest commitment to thrive in fast-paced work environments, and outstanding willingness to win and deliver results.
- Excellence in external/internal communication combined with consistency in follow-ups.

The salary for this role is $145,000.00 - $155,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
