About this Position

Accountable for Production Planning process – for a dedicated plants/asset groups –  that develops a feasible mid-term Production Plan in monthly buckets for upcoming 4-18 months and a feasible short-term Master Production Schedule in weekly buckets for the upcoming 13 weeks. 

What you´ll do

Production Planning process:

  • Develop a feasible and optimal mid-term Production Plan specifying the overall level of manufacturing output planned to be produced, typically stated as a monthly rate for each product family, thereby considering demand and available capacity of resources (typically an aggregate of multiple resources).
  • Develop and maintain a feasible and optimal short-term MPS through Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) thereby considering the availability of key individual resources across all production steps, including machine, labor, and supplier capacity, as well as inventory targets.
  • Identify capacity constraints and possible solutions (options), including the expected (financial) impact on inventory levels, capacity utilization, and customer service levels.
  • Identify supply scenarios (risk/opportunity) and possible solutions (options) to mitigate the risks and/or improve service and reduce operating costs as input to Supply Review.
  • Lead resolution of mid-term supply issues in close collaboration with the S&OP Manager and if needed put them on the agenda of the monthly Supply Review meeting.
  • Prepare and lead the Supply Review meeting.
  • Support preparation of monthly Pre-S&OP and Executive S&OP meeting Collaborate (weekly) with Distribution Planners, Material Planners, and Production Schedulers to align plans (MPS) and coordinate updates across the supply network.
  • Assess impact of supply changes in S&OE horizon (informed through Production Scheduler) on MPS.
  • Ensure internal intraregional supply of semi-finished goods, both from a supplying and sourcing point of view (alignment amongst different Production Planners, mainly via APS).
  • Monitor performance metrics and ensure target realization.
  • Support dysfunctional stock management.
  • Plan small-scale production runs to test manufacturing feasibility for phase-ins and plan the last production run to ensure the inventory of raw materials for phase-outs is depleted to zero.
  • Review production configuration (master data) and production status (transactional data) and maintain the quality of it with support of Production Scheduler, Network Specialist, and Data Maintenance Specialist (data stewardship). Propose adjustments to planning parameters given demand and supply dynamics to Production Scheduler (e.g., batch sizes, sequence), Distribution Planner (e.g., replenishment quantity, safety stock level), or Network Specialist.
  • Support SC network optimization projects

Distribution Planning process:

  • Propagate constrained Production Plans/Master Production Schedules downstream across the distribution network in an optimal way, ensuring alignment with logistics execution.
  • Plan and raise STO for the warehouse-to-warehouse movements and continuously rebalance inventory to support customer service levels.
  • Apply allocation rules, monitor target inventory levels, and address obsolete and slow-moving stock (OSMI).
  • Support dysfunctional stock management.
  • Track short-term demand and supply changes, informing the S&OE Manager of potential risks to service or stock health. 

Collaboration:

  • Close collaboration with internal/external key interfaces, mainly via APS, judging and aligning priorities to meet customer expectations and needs vs. supply chain capabilities; monitor and ensure delivery of other functions commitments.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiencies or streamline workflows.

Performance Management:

  • Prioritize own workflow and ensure work is completed to the required standards of productivity, quality and timeliness; use KPI’s, performance management systems and reports to improve personal performance.

Supporting Systems:

  • Utilize APS, driving efficiencies and providing feedback to contribute to systems improvement (internal & external use).

Time Management & Activities Planning:

  • Plan own activities according to demand to ensure business continuity, enhance efficiencies and improve service levels. Actively participate in team meetings to align priorities.

  • Comply with Henkel Corporate Standards, Global SHE and Sustainability requirements.

  • Minimal education required for the position: Bachelor degree, Commercial apprenticeship
  • Minimal work experience required in years: 2-5 years of experience in Production Planning and/or Supply Chain Planning
