What you´ll do

  • Oversee and manage engineering and operational initiatives within the Warren plant.
  • Manage and coordinate the maintenance staff to maximize labor utilization through the prioritizing, planning, and scheduling of work assignments.
  • Administer the preventative maintenance program, including writing, updating, and maintaining instructions and standards.
  • Write operational work instructions to reduce/prevent equipment downtime.  
  • Responsible for scoping and developing potential capital projects to determine operational and financial viability.
  • Lead the startup of capital projects which includes the commissioning of equipment, developing of operating instructions and effectively training operators and supervisors in the new processes and procedures.
  • Provide support for safety improvement opportunities that require engineering expertise.
  • Provide engineering support and guidance as needed for plant design and troubleshooting projects.
  • Develop and implement automation projects and procedures for standardization and use throughout the plant.
  • Actively participate in SHE, PSM, and Maintenance audits as needed.
  • Execute capital projects, procurement, contracting, construction oversight, commissioning and start-up as needed.
  • Plans and executes projects to deliver results. Manages complex projects or multiple projects of defined scope.
  • Manage departmental spend to meet site budget.
  • Recommends equipment and facility improvements along with cost saving measures.
  • Directs collaborators to develop new processes for specific needs.
  • Ensures site compliance with written programs, company guidelines and accredited standards (such as TS16949, ISO 14000, and OSHAS 18001, NFPA, API, ASME).
  • Collaborates with Engineering, Maintenance and Production Departments to create/configure HMIs in accordance with accepted industrial standards (ANSI/ISA88 and others) to facilitate ease of understanding and operation by end users.
  • Directly programs and/or oversees the contract programming of the Rockwell, Siemens, and Foxboro DCS systems. 
  • Leads Maintenance and E&I teams to calibrate instrumentation, PID loops, load cells, pressure transducers, and flow meters to meet PSM requirements and interface with DCS’s to correctly display process conditions.
  • Reads, modifies, and/or creates prints/documentation: P&IDs, electrical single lines, and loop diagrams. Utilizes the documents to identify problems in circuitry and correct issues. 
  • Maintains proficiency in DCS/PLC programing languages: Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text, Instruction List, and Sequential Function Chart. 
  • Installs, programs, modifies, and supports facility’s control networks: Servers, thin clients, virtual computers, Ethernet I/P
  • Familiarity with VFDs, programming, specification, and applications: Rockwell, Eaton, Honeywell, ABB, Siemens, Lens, etc.  

What makes you a good fit

  • 5 year(s) previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment (Chemical or oil and gas a plus)
  • Good verbal and written communication abilities, analytical skills, and computer literacy to include software for business performance reporting (MS Word, Excel, SAP)
  • Five or more years of experience preferred in the following architectures: RSLogix 5/500/5000 PLC software (Rockwell), RSNetworx for Ethernet programming software, Factory Talk View, Machine/Site Edition, Seimens PCS7, 505, Foxboro
  • Five or more years of experience preferred in the following programming languages: Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text
  • BS Degree in Engineering required
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in Industry preferred
  • Work experience in and/or supporting a Chemical Manufacturing Environment required
  • Detailed knowledge in automation engineering design methods preferred
  • Experience in PLC and/or DCS control system preferred
  • Ability to hold high level technology, process and project discussions with internal customers influencing decision makers or external agencies if warranted
  • Demonstrated understanding of pertinent regulatory compliance and approval requirements as it relates to existing and new technology
  • Ability to multi task effectively and execute multiple projects and assignments at various stages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Strong technical and data analysis skills required
  • Must be familiar with company, state and federal safety and electrical regulations.

The salary for this role is $115,000.00- $130,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
