The Henkel Packaging RecycLab has officially launched its operations in China. This specialized facility is dedicated to evaluating how adhesive solutions can drive innovation in packaging recycling and accelerate the transition to a circular economy. Through localized testing and process optimization, the RecycLab will enhance Henkel's capabilities in serving the Chinese and broader Asia-Pacific markets. A delegation led by LI Hua, Chairperson of the China Packaging Federation, visited the lab and jointly initiated the 2025 ‘Green Packaging Recycling China Tour’ with Henkel.

Henkel today broke ground on a new manufacturing facility of its Adhesive Technologies business unit within the Yantai Chemical Industry Park in Shandong Province, China. With an investment of approximately 120 million Euros ‏(RMB 870 million), the new plant, titled with the Chinese name ‘Kunpeng’, will enhance Henkel's production capacity of high-impact adhesive products in China, and further optimize the supply network, to better meet the growing demand from domestic and international markets.

Henkel Adhesive Technologies further strengthens its corporate venture capital activities by investing in the third fund of Richland Capital ‏(Richland Capital Fund III), Beijing, China. Richland Capital is a leading investment firm for emerging technology in China, focusing on investments in advanced materials, high-end manufacturing equipment and digital technologies as well as digital business models. As limited partner of the fund Henkel will strengthen its access to the fast-growing start-up-scene in China which has become a global hotspot for material science in recent years.
