What you’ll do

Gain hands-on experience in the packaging industry within a fast-paced production environment. As a Packaging Engineering Intern at Henkel, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams - including Supply Chain, Marketing, Production, and Distribution - to support packaging innovation and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in package testing and line/filling trials to validate packaging performance.

  • Supporting the Packaging Engineering team in identifying and evaluating new materials to optimize cost and performance.

  • Collaborating with vendors on packaging designs and requirements for cost-driven or customer-driven projects.

  • Conducting root cause analysis on packaging quality issues and coordinating corrective actions with suppliers.

  • Benchmarking packaging components and processes to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements.

  • Contributing to sustainability initiatives within the production environment.

What makes you a good fit

  • 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate student in Packaging Engineering or a related field

  • Strong foundational knowledge of packaging materials, formats, and processes

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; AutoCAD skills are a plus

  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and communication skills

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Comfortable presenting conclusions and recommendations to management

  • Curious, enthusiastic, and eager to learn while supporting various team projects

Following your internship, you may be invited to join Henkel as a returning intern or full-time employee.

Additional information

  • This internship is eligible for a housing stipend or relocation support.

  • The anticipated start date for this internship is June 15, 2026,and the anticipated end date is December 18, 2026.

  • Recruitment for our 2026 internships starts in late August 2025 and runs through early March 2026 or until all our positions are filled.

The salary for this role is $22-$27/hour.This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
