What you´ll do

As a key leader within the organization, the Director Strategic Sales will drive the identification, pursuit, and capture of high-value opportunities in alignment with corporate growth objectives. This role is responsible for assisting and supporting a team of business developers, while maintaining strategic oversight of key client relationships and market positioning. 

  • Provide Strategic Leadership in Opportunity Development: Guide and support business developers in specification development of high-value leads. Assist in the delivery of technical designs and presentations and ensure effective representation at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance market presence for strategically important markets and customers.
  • Oversee Business Development Execution: Lead the formulation and execution of go-to-market strategies in collaboration with executive leadership. Ensure alignment with annual sales targets by enabling the business development team with the right tools, guidance, and resources necessary to drive strategic results.
  • Key Account Strategy and Oversight: Develop and direct key account strategies to strengthen relationships with structural engineering firms, general contractors, and certified applicators. Ensure account plans align with corporate priorities and contribute to long-term revenue growth, client retention, and consistent revenue streams.
  • Champion Technical Solution Integration: Maintain a deep understanding of Henkel’s LOCTITE Tyfo & RenewWrap products and service offerings to provide strategic support in technical positioning and solution selling. 
  • Bid Strategy and Commercial Leadership: Provide strategic input into bid reviews and pursuit planning. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize pricing strategies, influence design requirements, and support pre-positioning efforts that maximize win potential and project profitability.
  • Market Intelligence and Innovation: Direct the ongoing collection and analysis of market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights. Translate findings into actionable strategies, including identification of innovation and research & development that enhance territory growth and competitive advantage.
  • Specification and Standards Development: Oversee the creation and promotion of technical specifications that align with product advantages. Ensure specifications are tailored to support successful project bids and long-term solution adoption.
  • Customer Experience Leadership: Champion a customer-centric culture across business development activities. Ensure timely resolution of client issues and foster high levels of client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Provide senior leadership with clear, timely, and insightful reports on strategic sales performance, forecasts, order intake, and captured opportunities (order books). Use data to drive accountability, measure effectiveness, and refine strategy.

What makes you a good fit

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, PE accreditation highly desirable.
  • 10+ years’ experience as a Consulting Engineer in structural engineering environment, or equivalent industry experience.
  • A genuine interest in client engagement and solution selling. You’re competitive, goal-oriented, and driven to succeed.
  • Open to learning and applying professional sales techniques. You’re adaptable and eager to grow.
  • Strong foundation in structural engineering principles, paired with a deep understanding of client needs.
  • Comfortable using presentation software to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% by car and air as needed to support client meetings, industry events, and team collaboration.

The salary for this role is $180,000.00 - $210,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
