What you´ll do
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Microbiologist to join our HBC R&D team and play a critical role in ensuring the microbiological integrity of our products. This high-impact position offers the opportunity to lead microbiological support for product development, collaborate cross-functionally, and contribute to the safety and quality of consumer goods through scientific excellence and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is eager to grow their expertise in both microbiology and manufacturing process hygiene. This position is with our Consumer Brands business unit – where we empower our employees to bring the best Laundry & Home Care, Body Care, and Hair products to people around the world.
- Lead microbiological support for at least one Product Development team to ensure adequate preservation of micro-susceptible products.
- Support partnership with Quality Assurance and Hygiene and provides microbiological support to manufacturing facilities to ensure microbiological requirements are met (e.g. hygienic design, product preservation, product specifications).
- Independently execute standard microbiological testing, including microbiological quality and preservative efficacy testing, per written procedures or compendial methods.
- Ensure accurate data is generated during laboratory testing and maintains accurate laboratory records.
- Oversee routine activities of laboratory technicians and manages laboratory inventory.
- Develop and update microbiological test methods to ensure conformance to specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Create and update department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure that work is done safely and efficiently.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, both written and oral, to various levels of management.
What makes you a good fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or other related biological science.
- 3-5 years of relevant laboratory and industry experience.
- Working knowledge of cGMP requirements for a microbiology laboratory, working knowledge of FDA requirements for cosmetics and OTC drugs.
- Strong problem-solving, writing and presentation skills (incl. technical reports).
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- A self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks with good time management.
- Team orientated, positive attitude, enthusiastic about learning new tasks.

The salary for this role is $80,000.00 - $95,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
