Two pump dispensers and two refill pouches of the Pril Stark & Natürlich range

Refillable Pril Power in a convenient pump dispenser

The new Pril Stark & Natürlich: environmentally friendly dishwashing and sustainable packaging

With its new "Stark & Natürlich ‏(Strong & Natural)" product range, Pril proves that sustainability in the home can be quite simple. For the first time, Pril is offering a refillable pump dispenser. The bottle body is made exclusively from recycled plastic and the refill pouch saves as much as 70 percent plastic compared to the pump dispenser. The formula contains 93 percent ingredients of natural origin as well as food-certified colorants and fragrances. The new Pril Stark & Natürlich is available in the Apple Blossom & Aloe Vera variant and as a variant without fragrances and dyes, each as a pump dispenser and as a recyclable refill pouch.

The two representatives of BASF and Henkel are signing the contract.

Cooperation on climate protection

BASF and Henkel focus on renewable raw materials in Henkel’s consumer goods products

  • Around 110,000 tons per year of fossil-based ingredients will be substituted with renewable carbon sources using BASF’s certified biomass balance approach.
  • The measure will ramp up quickly and avoid around 200,000 tons of CO2 emissions in total.

Strong progress to circular economy and climate protection

Henkel launched almost 700 million bottles made of 100% recycled plastics to the market in Europe

Henkel is reaching a milestone in its engagement for sustainable packaging: The company used almost 700 million bottles made of 100 percent recycled plastics for Laundry & Home Care products in Europe – more than 400 million alone in 2020. The recycled material stems from post-consumer waste, including Social Plastic® from Henkel’s partnership with the Plastic Bank. By increasing the number of packaging made of recycled material, Henkel does not only contribute to a circular economy but also to climate protection: Recycled PET has an almost 80 percent lower CO2 footprint compared to virgin plastic.

  • Adhesive Technologies sales decrease in sharply declining industrial business environment: nominal -4.3%, organic -4.1%
  • Beauty Care sales lower due to significantly negative Hair Salon business: nominal -2.6%, organic -3.9%
  • Laundry & Home Care posts very strong increase in sales: nominal 5.3%, organic 5.5%
  • Differentiated regional sales development: emerging markets 2.2%, mature markets -2.8%

  • Group reports organic sales growth of +11.3% to new all-time high of around 6 billion euros, nominal +17.3%, with all three business units contributing:
    • Adhesive Technologies achieves double-digit organic sales growth of +16.8%, nominal +22.6%
    • Beauty Care reports positive organic sales growth of +0.9%, nominal +8.4%
    • Laundry & Home Care generates significant organic sales growth of +7.3%, nominal +13.2%
  • Double-digit sales growth in emerging markets, very strong growth in mature markets
  • Merger of Laundry & Home Care and Beauty Care into Consumer Brands ahead of plan
  • Outlook for fiscal 2022: Raised guidance for sales and earnings based on continued strong business performance

Henkel continues on growth path with strong sales increase in third quarter

  • Group sales grow organically by +3.5% to around 5.1 billion euros, nominal +1.9%:
    • Adhesive Technologies achieves very strong organic sales growth of +7.0%, nominal +7.1%
    • Beauty Care records negative organic sales development of -3.0%, nominal -6.5%
    • Laundry & Home Care achieves good organic sales growth of +2.0%, nominal -0.8%
  • Organic sales development mainly driven by emerging markets
  • Henkel well above pre-crisis level: organic sales growth of +7.5% versus Q3 2019 corresponds to an average annual growth of +3.7%
  • Outlook for fiscal 2021 updated: Sales guidance confirmed, earnings expectations at lower end of previous guidance ranges
